2010 Software Tools Study – Complimentary Webinar
As companies evolve through the MPS adoption process, deciding the best suited partner(s) for implementing the appropriate MPS strategy for any particular organization becomes more and more critical. Because this decision will ultimately result in a long-term, ongoing partnership with the solution provider, the task of evaluating and selecting the right MPS software for any given business environment gets more comprehensive and complex. The investment at this level is not only a financial one, but also involves time and resources, as well as allowing a third party to be deeply involved in the day-to-day operations of your business. Therefore, relying upon and having confidence in the solution provider of choice is essential for both parties to prosper. However choosing a solution provider is difficult due to the myriad of options and often very similar marketing messages.
A perfect example can be seen with FMAudit and Print Audit. Both are respected software companies in the industry with their respective strengths, but they certainly have their differences. One example is alert notification functionality within these two tools. FMAudit allows the user to setup notifications through what it calls Adaptive Service Management(ASM). ASM has two primary functions today, Supply Triggered Marketing and Supply Triggered Delivery. Supply Triggered Marketing is designed to sell supplies for devices that are currently not managed. Supply Triggered Delivery focuses on automated toner ordering and delivery for managed devices.
One of the points that differentiates Print Audit’s offering from FMAudit is automated monitoring of the current device status for your imaging devices, e.g. offline, paper jam, etc. Both of these functionalities are quite useful, but it’s up to the MPS provider to determine which tool is best for their company to best meet their customer’s needs. This choice, however, can be complicated.
Photizo has completed the second phase of its 2010 MPS Software Tools Study. The first phase focused on discovery and assessment tools, and the second phase focused on asset management tools. These two studies have studied tools from a total of 15 different companies. Join us for a free webinar on 9/24/10 that will discuss highlights from these two studies as well as information on the upcoming phase: document management, workflow and secure print.
