Intel inside…managed print services?

jeffrey

You probably associate Intel with the first microprocessor (developed by Intel in 1971), silicon innovation and other innovative technologies and products. If you’re like me, you associate them with the cute robot from the Super Bowl commercials. But managed print services doesn’t usually jump to the top of the list.

More than a chip in a PC, Intel’s technologies serve as the foundation to most of the computing devices that form part of our day-to-day life, including many of our industry’s print imaging solutions. From enabling peer-to-peer driverless mobile printing, to providing out-of-band  technologies for smarter, more efficient MPS solutions, Intel technologies are helping MPS providers offset declining per page revenues and stay competitive in an increasingly crowded space.

We recently interviewed Brendan Peters, Print Imaging Segment Manager at Intel®, to talk about how Intel is combining intelligent chips with technology that enables managed print solutions. The result is unprecedented functionality such as out of band connectivity for remote manageability which, among other things, enables remotely diagnosing and power cycling units.

Brendan Peters graduated with honors from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in Marketing, and then went on to Penn State where he completed an MBA with a dual emphasis in Marketing and Supply Chain. Brendan joined Intel Corporation upon graduating and has been with the company for over 10 years. At Intel he has had responsibilities for channel marketing, business operations, pricing management, and is now currently Worldwide Segment Marketing Manager for the Print Imaging segment of Intel’s silicon business.
